BCC is thrilled to embark on this collaborative journey to tackle the everyday challenges faced by developers of color and to explore meaningful solutions for achieving true equity in our industry. 

This forum unites a diverse array of financing organizations from across the country, showcasing innovative funds and strategies designed to dismantle barriers for underrepresented developers. It’s a platform for thought-provoking discussions, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of best practices that will foster collaboration and inspire transformative change.

Presentation 1: Revitalization through Acquisition & Bridge Loans Tiffany Taylor & Aloni Harris, C3 Fund

Join Tiffany Taylor and Aloni Harris of the C3 Impact Fund as they share valuable lessons and best practices from their work empowering BIPOC and women real estate investors through rehabilitation and acquisition loans. Learn how they’re transforming distressed communities by creating affordable housing and local jobs in low-to-moderate income neighborhoods. With a goal to raise $100 million, C3 aims to finance over 300 projects, driving sustainable development and lasting community impact.

Presentation 2: Tackling Guarantees Matt Madia, Neighborhood Allies

In this segment, Matt shares insights into Neighborhood Capital and their investment program in the Pittsburgh market. He outlines four key principles: being the first investor, risk-sharing, ensuring developer profitability, and acting as a silent partner. Discover how Neighborhood Capital provides predevelopment loan guarantees, collaborating with developers and banks to secure project funding. Matt shares valuable experiences and best practices, illustrating Neighborhood Capital’s commitment to supporting early-stage projects despite the challenges they may face.

Presentation 3: Closing the gap with Equity & Enterprise Capital Darius Barrett & Dylan Hengy, Ebiara Fund

Explore how Ebiara is driving business growth for emerging minority developers in Detroit by providing equity and enterprise capital, along with technical assistance, to help scale their real estate ventures. In this presentation, the team highlights their support for transformative projects, from residential to mixed-use developments, that fuel economic impact in underserved communities. With over $223 million in development projects funded, they share key insights and lessons learned on catalyzing sustainable business growth and community revitalization.

Closing Remarks

Builders of Color concludes the Capital Investors Forum Series by announcing the launch of the Innovation Library, featuring one-pager snapshots of the interviewed organizations.
